4 years of growth, 5 summers, shows just how quick it can be to totally change the look of an empty flooded field!
It looks amazing, Andy. You must be do proud.
ReplyDeleteHow has the dry weather affected you? Despite the lack of rain I've found fruit has been pretty amazing... prolific and sweet. Everything else growing well too. Main problem I think is going to be bolting... my leeks have started already!

Hi Judy, I've done a lot of watering and started everything very early. A lot did bolt but 2nd crops are already in. My problem was early hot weather which caused apple tree blossom to come out and then we had some hard frosts, causing some of my trees not to produce apples. I did Kale, Chard and Spinach early, they all bolted.
Deletewhat kind of trees are those that grew so fast between 2016 and 2017 - especially the one on the left near the arbor?
ReplyDeleteWillow. It got to about 20ft this year and we chopped it down to chest height.
